Patrick M De Sio, CPA, CGMA is the founding and former managing partner of the predecessor firm of Vertex Accounting Partners, LLC, De Sio Franzen & Associates, Ltd.
He has had over 40 years of extensive experience in the fields of personal and business taxation, entity design, retirement and succession planning, as well as forensic accounting and marital property settlements.
Prior to establishing his private practice in 1981, Mr. De Sio served as a Tax Auditor and Revenue Agent with the Internal Revenue Service in the Chicago Region where he was responsible for income tax audits of high-income individuals and small and medium sized partnerships and corporations.
In addition, he served as IRS Midwest Regional Tax Shelter Coordinator in the five state Chicago region, was a member of the Internal Revenue Services Speakers Cadre appearing on Radio & Television to answer taxpayer inquires on all ranges of taxation matters, and served as an instructor in the IRS VITA program designed to help AARP and other volunteer organizations to assist the elderly in preparing their own income tax returns.
Mr. De Sio is a proud graduate of Loyola University of Chicago, is licensed in the States of Illinois and Florida, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the National Alliance of Trust and Estate Professionals.
