Gregory S. Adams, CPA, MST, has more than 50 years of public accounting experience, advising clients on both business and individual tax planning matters.
Prior to joining Vertex Accounting Partners LLC, Greg served as a Senior Tax Partner with a national accounting firm. In that role, he worked extensively with closely held businesses, providing guidance on business formation and entity selection, deferred compensation plan design, corporate reorganizations, and IRS representation. He also has deep expertise in individual taxation, including estate and gift tax planning, intergenerational wealth transfer strategies, and tax compliance and planning for nonprofit organizations.
Greg holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Bradley University and a Master of Science in Taxation, with distinction, from DePaul University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Greg has been actively involved in the community as a USA Hockey–certified ice hockey official in Illinois through 2025 and as a certified official instructor. He now enjoys spending time supporting his five grandsons in their athletic pursuits.
